The definition of ‘Lo’ – “to draw attention to good things” – represents what I do for your practice. I help you get more of the right attention, boosting your confidence and improving customer perceptions so you win more of the work you want.
I’m not just a marketer who’s decided to niche into working with architects – I started in the architecture industry 20 years ago and have since developed into the marketer I am today. I’ve seen first-hand what it’s like to work in small, local practices through to large, global firms. Since founding LO Marketing, I’ve become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and co-editor of the RIBA publication Cambridge Architecture. Using a mixture of my skills and background, I specialise in working with small-medium architecture firms to find their way with marketing.
After many years of working in a global architecture firm, I no longer wanted to support large-scale projects that I wouldn’t ever be able to visit or be fully involved with. When I set up LO Marketing, I made a conscious decision to work with smaller architecture firms – either solo practitioners or small teams. Why? Because if you’re a small-medium architecture firm, I get to:
The last one is optional, but having a personal relationship means you get the best out of my marketing expertise, as you aren’t given a lifeless one-size-fits-all approach. This is your business, so our work together is really tailored to your unique qualities, what you enjoy doing, and what’s already working, so you draw more of the right attention to your practice and achieve your goals faster (and with less stress).
Get the benefit of big-picture ideas without restricting red tape.
"What I found most helpful about working with Susie was the optimism and motivation she brought. She helped us reflect on what we’ve achieved, rather than stressing over what’s left to do, and reminded us that dips are normal for any firm. Her energy and small, manageable tasks helped us get out of a rut and focus, knowing we already have the resources—we just need to apply them."

I’m Susie Lober. Before founding LO Marketing, I was the Communications Manager for Foster + Partners, the UK's largest and most innovative architectural practice.
I started LO Marketing after having my first child, so I could create a flexible lifestyle mixing my love for both marketing and architecture.
I’m based in Cambridge, which puts me in a great place to be around so many independent architecture firms and cutting-edge projects – my idea of heaven.
When I have free time, I love sketching pen and ink drawings (of buildings, of course!), and cooking healthy, homemade food from scratch. I also set up a local running club with other mums in the local village to stay active.
"Our main goal was to focus our energy in the right place to help us present ourselves in the most appropriate way to our customer base. Susie has the benefit of having direct architectural experience from within practices, which really helps. It’s a skill to have that level of understanding of what makes a practice tick. Susie has an energy to her that is really engaging, and she's got a skill level and an approach that suits us as a practice. We are very happy with her services. Susie's given us guidance on marketing material and without her, we wouldn't have the strength of following we do.”
